Jeff Lundeen Art Show at Maple Grove Arts Center 2019
The Maple Grove Arts Center is lucky to have paintings by Jeff Lundeen, artist, for 3 months this summer. MGAC is a wonderful opportunity for a family activity when people may not feel like driving and parking in downtown Minneapolis to see art. The MGAC building is located at 11666 Fountains Drive | Maple Grove, MN 55369 (at the other end of the block by Nadia Cakes). Small and cozy, families and children can observe art and have a memorable experience locally. I added the location information as I am often asked where the MGAC is located.
Jeff paints landscapes in oil, as this portion of his show reveals. He paints all seasons and many of his paintings are from his travels. He and his wife like to travel. Lundeen was already an established teacher, a husband, and a father when he discovered an artistic talent he didn’t know he possessed.
A previous show by Jeff Lundeen was at the Tettegouch State Park which has a large and lovely visitor building with many family activities. There is always something educational going on at that park. He was chosen to be in the art show after submitting photos of his work to a panel of experts. Lundeen said he was excited when he learned he had been selected. Response to the show was very positive. This photo from the display has such a Northwoods feel!
Another show by Jeff was at the Elk River Arts Alliance. Eleven artists were featured in the Elk River Area Arts Alliance’s third annual Oil Painting Show a few years ago. As a former teacher, he has connected with past students who also enjoy art, as this Northern Star article shows.
As I mentioned, Jeff and his wife Mary like to travel. Here they are kayaking near Juneau, Alaska.
Mary loves to support Jeff, and here they both are at one of Jeff’s shows.
We recently toured Jeff’s studio and saw his current paintings in process. Here he is in his studio.
As you would expect, there was plenty of paint!
And he keeps paint colors used for certain paintings in this clever manner.
My husband is in this picture during the tour, although he didn’t know I was taking his picture.
There were all sorts of paintings to observe.
Mary made the needlepoint sign outside the studio door for Jeff.
He landscaped his property so nicely, having huge rocks brought in along with adding waterfalls. I don’t know why they need to travel as their house and yard are a paradise.
I will leave you with one last painting!
