Hispanic Heritage Month and Resource Round-up
September is Hispanic Heritage Month and this post has links to educational resources for teachers and homeschools, as well as a round-up of free Spanish resources available on the Wise Owl Factory site. First, here are a few links to PBS Learning Media which has free teaching resources including standards. This site has rigor and dense text for teachers to share excellent learning with students.
Educational Resources from PBS Learning Media
Spanish Me, English Me from PBS for Grades K and 1
Latino Americans Share Their Experience for Grades 6-9
Latino Americans for Grades 4-12
Resources on other blogs are listed below. Under that, please find my free resources. Red buttons throughout my site mean the materials are free and instant downloads. Clicking on the buttons will take you to the blog post and the downloads.
Castleview Academy reviewed a book, ¡HOLA! Let’s Learn Spanish that sounds very nice! Although the book is priced, your local library may have or be willing to order a copy for circulation. Her children certainly enjoyed this book and learning.
Living Montessori Now has a post with freebies for helping to teach Spanish colors at this link.
The Multicultural Kids Blog has a blog post about three free Spanish Apps they feel are excellent, also.
Bicultural Mama has a post about a board book for babies who can also start learning Spanish. The book is Little Chickies / Los Pollitos [Canticos] by Susie Jaramillo. I remember singing the song in Spanish class myself! Again, it is a book so it is possible your local library might have a copy.
Thank you for reading! I hope these resources will help some readers, and that you also find more wonderful educational materials for September.
