I Like the Music PDF work page and key
I Like the Music is a Reading Rainbow book selection. It is the story of a girl who enjoys street music and can’t understand why she has to attend a symphony concert indoors. The book is in rhyme that really has a beat. Many kinds of music are discussed in this book which is illustrated with vivid pictures. Of course, by the end of the story when the symphony has an outdoor concert and the girl gets to be a conductor, she truly is enjoying the music. If you are trying to talk any children you know into going to a symphony or orchestra concert, this book could help.
It would also be good preparation for class trips to such concerts. This book is level K for guided reading purposes. Students decide if the instruments are for street music or for the symphony in the work page by making check marks. Leah Komaiko is the author of several popular rhyming books for children including Annie Bananie, a Children’s Choice Award winner. She lives in California.
