Welcome back to the first day of school! This post has two new school year freebies on Teachers Pay Teachers.
Starting the school year with a positive mindset is very important for the class. This link is to my free back to school growth (and fixed) mindset letter sized teaching posters that could be discussed the first day. Perhaps the messages won’t entirely sink in to student minds that day, but the stage can be set for future issues and class discussions. This poster set could even be added to a bulletin board for reference when working with individual students, as an anchor display for fall. Getting students thinking with growth mindsets as much as possible will help the entire year.
Positive Mindset Posters
This video shows what the printable is about. It can be shown to students, as well.
A small display can be made using the printable such as one of the two following ideas. If you like the title at the top of this display, they are on this free PDF. TpT limits us to ten pages for freebies so the title is separate. title-growth-or-fixed-mindset
The posters will make a small display for a door or bulletin board.
Birthday Awards
Next, being ready for birthdays that first day of school is important. Don’t be caught off guard and make a child wait for an award the following day. It is surprising how often a student of mine has had a birthday that very first day. How sad to be at back at school on your birthday! I like making children smile and so here is a link to my free editable birthday awards on Teachers Pay Teachers.
