This post has some ideas we used to make theme baskets with board books and toys for a baby about 7 months old. The first idea is the “you are my sunshine” basket which includes a board book by that title as well as a Twinkle Twinkle Little Star book. Our sun is a star and is sometimes referred to as the ball in the sky, so there is an orange ball baby toy. We also have a star toy that plays some classical music baby-style. I found the soft basket on Etsy.
Baby Theme Baskets: Board Books We Love
Next, another baby theme basket with nonfiction. Nonfiction is important for baby. It is important to read to baby and also read a variety of books like poems, haiku, nonfiction, non-scary stories, and books with photos such as of faces and animals. Baby is ready to learn! So here is a basket with bird books complete with a nest and baby bird. I found the soft nest and bird on Etsy, as well.
We still had our Velveteen Rabbit board books from many years ago, so it was only right they would be placed in a basket, too. We found a soft bunny only to add to the theme. This bunny has no removable objects and is safe for baby.
Other Items To Include
Of course, we can’t resist things that go. Baby is still young so the duck has to be placed in a clear tub when played so it is moving, and also be out of baby’s reach. Soon baby can push the buttons and hear the sounds and music. And of course, a little car. I’m sure the things that go basket will need to be larger fairly soon.
The baskets are on a shelf for now as baby isn’t crawling yet. We have to figure out another arrangement soon.
Thank you for reading, Grandma Carolyn :-)
